Geriatric Vision Loss: A Therapy Perspective
This course is intended to provide clinicians with information regarding the impact on visual loss the geriatric population, common underlying factors fall risk and need for adaptive education/training. The program also focuses on educating clinicians on proper method of assessment of therapeutic needs as well as development and implementation of an appropriate treatment program. The course materials are presented as evidenced-based and oriented to clinical application for standard skilled therapy for fall prevention.

- Summarize the implications of vision loss and common forms of visual impairments.
- Identify common underlying risk associated with visual loss diagnosis.
- Determine potential adaptive equipment to cope with vision loss.
- Delineate the assessment procedure for vision loss patients within the scope of Medicare guidelines.
- Explain the development and implementation of an effective and efficient treatment program to address vision loss and adaptive training methods.
