ICD-9 Coding Basics
The purpose of this course is intended to enhance physical, occupational and speech therapist knowledge and skills regarding coding guidelines in accordance with CMS regulations. This course is to teach therapist how to assign proper codes meeting both clinical and technical criteria.

- Explain how to support clinical services with proper coding for therapy.
- Summarize basic overview of codes that tend to be problematic for therapist.
- Explain the pathophysiology related to ICD-9 code assignment.
- Explain how to document key words to support CPT codes billed.
- Determine the basic overview of how to properly use Ingenix coding software for optimal coding.
