Physical Therapist
Physical Therapists (PTs) provide services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients with injuries or disease.
As a physical therapist, would you like to:
- Help a patient achieve independence in all types of daily activities by providing range of motion, strengthening, and functional training following surgery?
- Help a patient with osteoporosis to be active and pain-free by developing safe and effective exercise programs to improve function and reduce the risk of fractures?
- Assist a patient with a pulmonary diagnosis to better understand and manage the disease process through education, resources, and treatment strategies that can help him achieve the highest level of functional independence?
PTs examine patients' medical histories, then test and measure their strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function. They also determine the patient's ability to be independent and reintegrate into the community or workplace after injury or illness. Finally, they develop treatment plans describing a treatment strategy, its purpose, and the anticipated outcome.
If you are interested in working in a variety of settings such as an outpatient clinic, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility or home health setting providing short term and long term rehab, then you belong at Therapy Management Corporation!
