| Now that we’ve had time with PDPM, let’s discuss what denial trends we have been seeing. Last month, we reviewed Section GG, Isolation, and Malnutrition denials. This month, we will provide an in-depth review of 4 additional denial trends we are seeing under PDPM: Active Diagnosis, Parenteral/IV Feeding, Swallowing Disorders, and Cognitive Impairment denials. We will review how providers can prevent these types of denials, as well as what auditors are looking for to support what is coded on the MDS. |
