The Medicare Advantage and Medicare replacement companies have worked diligently to increase enrollment. In many areas, the Medicare Advantage population is exceeding those enrolled in traditional Medicare. With that comes the challenge of trying to stay on top of complex managed care plan requirements and reimbursement.
“As of 2022, more than 28 million people are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan. This accounts for nearly half, at about 48% of the eligible Medicare population,” says Lachney. “The Congressional Budget Office expects 51% of all Medicare beneficiaries will be enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan by 2030, but we expect we’ll probably reach that much earlier.”
